It is with great pride that we celebrate our 30th year as a vibrant arts institution. Come see a great performance at the Playhouse, or take a fun dance, music, theater or art class at the School. Open your horizons and experience the arts at The Academy of Performing Arts Cape Cod's finest quality theater and studio.
We have many people to thank for our continued success: from Gordon and Betsy Argo who had the initial daring to purchase the Town Hall and begin its conversion into the Playhouse which you see today, to John and Elizabeth Kelly whose vision it was to create a school for the performing arts, to the incorporators who in 1975 sought to insure our future. Of course there are many others: our trustees, our faculty, our students, our parents and our audience members all of whom are an integral part of our past and who we hope will remain an integral part of our future.
We are now able to offer year round instruction in dance, music and theatre for all ages with unique opportunities for performance in a variety of productions. Our Outreach programs continue to provide area schools with residencies, workshops, and assemblies to help promote the integration of the arts throughout the school curriculum. Throughout the years, students have come with a broad range of interests, ages and abilities to study and perform with professionals who bring with them a wealth of talent in each discipline. While some students have gone on to careers, we hope that all students have come to a greater understanding of and appreciation for the arts. As an institution we continue to suffer growing pains even after 30 years, but we hope that as we continue to move forward we will remain a viable part of the community which we serve.
