NOTHING - DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS

I have never rated a service provided however, after my experience with Newark TV Service Company, I feel compelled to make others aware of this sub-standard company. When my 54" Toshiba went blank, we contacted Newark TV and scheduled a service call, at a quoted rate of $75. When no confirmation was received as promised, my wife attempted to contact them. After 3 phone calls, she eventually received a return call and the service call was confirmed. Mike (the owner) responded and following his inspection, suggested that the TV be brought to his shop for repair. He offered a quote of between $350 and $450, depending upon parts plus the $85 cost for the service call ... his secretary "accidentally misquoted the charge". Two weeks later, Mike's son returned to install our repaired TV (at the $450 cost ¿ of course) and when he was unable to reconnect it to my stereo system, we agreed to have Mike come back. Eventually, Mike returned and was able to reconnect the unit to allow for DVD playback through the stereo. When I tried to get the TV to play through the stereo, I was unsuccessful and called Mike. Following a series of missed telephone calls, we spoke and Mike emphatically stated that he showed my wife and son how to adjust the system to get audio out of the TV; I tried following the same steps with no success. At my insistence, six weeks following the initial service call, Mike came back to my home to "show me what I was doing wrong"....he could not get the TV to play through the stereo. After 'fiddling' with my components, he accused me of disconnecting wires. He also alleged that our cable company was the cause of the problem, despite my repeated insistence that we did not have any cable service techs to our home in the past six months. In the end - Mike was not only unsuccessful in putting my system back the way he found it - he actually blew my receiver!!!! Unprofessional / rude / incompetent / dishonest / accusatory are all words that I would use to describe this business owner. Save yourself the aggravation ¿ DO NOT CALL NEWARK TV SERVICE COMPANY! this repair shop is the most incompetent run business I have come accross in a long time. I am prerparing a law suit against them for decieving business practices for what they said they would do and never responded to numerous phone calls and even said I could not have m y tv back if I came to pick it up to take it some where else I HAD TO HAVE THE POLICE ESCORT ME TO THE BUSINESS to recover my tv. if anyone is interested in getiing their money back as well please call jk833@comcast.net (Hide)
