Don''t know what all the complaints are for because I have had excellent customer service with 2 accidents from other driver's fault and cheaper insurance with same coverage as other higher priced insurance companies.
I was a long time customer but they raised my rates even though I had never submitted a claim to them. When I called to cancel, the lady was so rude. I will never go back. Progressive (Drive Insurance) whatever they changed their name to is HORRRRRIBLE. I would never refer anyone to them. They have the worse service and hidden fees.

With good driver and good customer status, Progressive Insurance raised my 6 month premium by over $100.00. I considered that to be selfish, greedy and unfair and changed to another insurance company.

After 17 years I finally understand why they are called Progressive....They are progessively getting worse! Use inferior parts for repairs and do not care if repairs are done correctly. I am ashamed to be a Progressive customer!

Claims representatives are difficult to reach and seldom get back to you if you leave a message. Claims reps attempt to use technical jargon to confuse you when you disagree with the results of the claim. Though they say otherwise, the representative with whom I spoke was not trying to pay anything for my totaled vehicle. (Hide)

Police reports and adjuster agreed we were not at fault but Progressive kept delaying payment and we finally accepted an offer for less than we should have gotten. Later when I shopped for other insurance I found out Progressive had us listed as at fault!! I've asked them to correct it but they haven't. (Hide)

I have had MANY dealings with Progressive. Their claims service is quick, and well organized. If there are delays or problems it is only if liability is disputed or if there are coverage issues on your part. Total losses are valued according to NADA value which is usually higher than KBB and definately better than market value that most ins. company's follow. They do their VERY best to WOW the customer each and every time to keep you coming back renewal after renewal. With Progressive - it really is all about you. If you are in an accident, they do all the leg work for you. It is a stress free experience. THIS COMPANY COMES HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (Hide)

I went to the doctor and had xrays which cost 198 and urgent care referred me to the hospital to have a CT scan done, so this was all in one visit with two providers because the urgent care cannot give CTs. So, the CT scan cost 3054. and progressive chose not to pay it but they did pay for the xray. I recommend anyone not to chose progressive because not only because of my dealings with them but I have heard many negative things about them such as hiring detectives to follow people around who claimed medical injuries. I have also been told by progressive insurance holders that they have treated them real bad when it is their fault-not just bad but in a hateful sense. I will attempt to get the word out as much as I can to inform Americans about the practices of Progressive Insurance-they do not believe in Ethics, loyalty, or principles-I was told a CT scan was not warranted. They never came to look at my car, refused to supply me all the info in my file regarding a parking lot incident from a speeding driver hitting me, made a snap judgement without reviewing the scene or vehicles, then raised my premiums by over 50%. I have no tickets or accidents or anything for over 25 years. Figure that out.
When I started inquiring, they started playing paper shuffle and defending one another so they wouldn't get caught making a bad judgement or mistake. Truly a god complex and sell you out in order to jack up your premiums. Rude and condescending. So much for their so-called low rates. (Hide)

We had an accident with our motorhome in October, 2008. The accident was caused by the other driver failing to yield right of way, as stated on the police accident report. Three witnesses gave police their names, One was a Fire Chief.

Progressive has acted as if they were from the other driver's insurance company!
They have tried to have documents signed at a fraction of the damage cost, misinformed us of NYS laws and dragged their feet handing the claim, causing us to be without the motorhome, at this point, until July 2009. It is late January and they have failed to honor their word and just ignore the claim!! This company is in no way interested in your investment nor your travel! (But thy have "Tricked-Out Nametags") Beware!!! (Hide)

the online app was pretty basic, but i still needed to speak to a real person anyway so it didnt save me any time, and the rate wasnt the best either. i rather deal with a real person from the start .
