Called to have them service a GE gas range. After the hold I spent ten minutes giving all the information to the representative, She asked if I could be placed on hold while she got me the time for the service people to show up. After a very brief period of hold a different lady answered and asked what she could do for me? I explained I had already given all of the information and was only waiting for the service time, she said that she was a supervisor and that because I was transfered we had to start all over. After giving her all of the information I was told that they did NOT provided service in the 4th largest city in Texas and that she recommended I check the yellow pages for a service group. (Hide)

(More) Although I provided model number, etc. and described in detail the problem--igniter for GE oven needed replacement--the repairman came ignorant in the door, poked around, discovered what I had already reported, and said he'd have to order the part and return in a week. The official repair service for GE appliances, apprised of the need, should at the least have had the replacement part available in his truck at the first call. Part will cost me $100. Labor $200. No wonder, if they have to make two trips to make a routine repair, the details of which I gave them in advance. (Hide)
