(More) I called and price shopped, asking about different prices if I dropped my phone or cable. A week later, they sent out a guy who came to our house and asked our 14-year-old to remove the modem--without the knowledge of the adults of the house--which also disconnected our phone number. I was so upset afterward, I decided they could keep our phone service. I changed my mind 40 days later, then they had permanently lost our phone number and couldn't restore it. Now, nearly 5 months later, I discover that they're still charging us every month for the modem the guy came and took. When I called their customer service, the guy said he showed it was still connected and it would take 14 days for them to research it. I asked him to read me their notes and he read the notes that said they took our modem, but he still wouldn't refund the money for the modem rental for the last 5 months until they research. I've been a loyal customer for 9 years! Thanks a lot Comcast. Too big to care? (Hide)

Then they tell me they will not disconnect my account because I have not returned the modem. I spoke with about 5 comcast representative over the phone trying to explain to them that the modem is mine and that it is not owned by comcast. But no one would listen. I thought the modem is not worth the trouble. So I went to this comcast office to settle this matter once and for all. I spoke to the guy at the desk and he checked his system just to confirm, what I already knew that the modem is mine and refused to take it back. Then I get a bill in my mail from comcast for $30 to return the modem. The money was not the issue here but I am not willing to pay up some money just because comcast cant get its systems straight. So I go back to this office and the same guy tells me that I will get this resolved ASAP. I give him another chance. But a month or so later I start get (Hide)

At 3 hours per call, we have spent more than 40 hours restricted to our home during the holidays and the hd service is still all screwed up. Their... At 3 hours per call, we have spent more than 40 hours restricted to our home during the holidays and the hd service is still all screwed up. Their ads show service personnel wearing little booties to prevent tracking in dirt but we have had one technician out of about ten different ones wear them. We have had dirt tracked all over our house. To date, the technicians and their technical supervisors have NOT corrected HD programs freezing up, screen turning black, or error messages about incorrect cable card having been installed. We have missed important segments of ball games, program endings, and news interruptions at random. These interruptions occur as frequently as six to eight times per hour. we're looking for alternatives. Wished we could select ZERO stars. (Hide)

I cannot even count how many times I have spent far too much time on the phone with them and have been given the run-around and tossed from person to person who was unable to help. I cannot believe that such an inefficient company got as large as they did. My bill has been steadily going up over the past year, and they have been prompting me to upgrade my own equipment (modem, digital converter) and threatening that my service won't work unless I buy new stuff. I hate that I have no other option where I live. Also, beware that the online services are not linked with local offices, and any changes you try to make to your account online are completely void unless you speak directly to your local office. But they don't tell you that online. Illogical? Nonsensical? Yes. But that's Comcast for you. (Hide)

I just called to tell them that nobody has shown up for our appointment today, and was told that it had been cancelled because my problem had been "resolved" and that they don't notify customers about cancelled appointments. I lose a day's worth of work each time this happens. In that same phone call, they told me that they could not hear me, that my voice was cutting in and out. Obviously, they have an interesting definition of "resolved", and an interesting definition of "customer service". What a joke. (Hide)

I'm IT guy and work from home periodically and need good internet to run remote connections to my office. Never ideal from the start (~3 years now), but it worked ok... until a few months ago, when suddenly it begun crawl to a stop.No change on my end: did not even touch my wires. Here's the pattern: download curbs to ~100Kb/s (steady!) whereas upload goes 5Mb/s, 50 times the download speed - speedtest . net! Rebooting router/modem/PC helps none. They gotta limit my bandwidth, b/c this can go on for days untill i call techs.. Customer support finds nothing wrong. When I ask to send technician to my house the problem magically disappears right away or an hour later. When tech calls me to confirm appointment all I have left is to call him off, b/c (you've guessed it!) it fixed itself. I've been in this boat now over dosen of times in the past 2 months. In addition, if you return your hi def box for another, they don't feel that they should look up your info to see if you subscribe to hi def, so you go home with an incompatible box. Comcast insist they are never wrong, and they forget who is paying their paychecks. This is the right time for another company to come in and scoop away all of their business.
