Pleasant Ridge Manor is committed to meeting the individual needs of each of our residents.Personalizing the care of each of the services we provide to our residents is our goal to help them attain the highest level of physical, social, emotional, and spiritual functioning. Our new wing accommodates 40 residents in 20 semi-private rooms. The new wing is thoughtfully designed to allow residents freedom and security while being supervised by staff trained to meet the needs of residents with dementia. The area includes two dining rooms, as well as an additional smaller dining and lounge area for residents who need a smaller, quieter environment. For resident safety, appliances in the dining rooms are enclosed in secure cupboards, as is the cable television. The restroom areas are equipped with modern shower/whirlpool facilities, with pull stations for safety. Resident rooms are decorated in a manner that facilitates easier identification for residents through color and design differences. Memory boxes to hold treasured pictures or mementos are located at the entrances to each room, which also help residents recognize their rooms while triggering memories of the past. The design of the wing includes a secured and enclosed walkway surrounding an open courtyard. The courtyard includes a large covered patio area. The entire wing and area is designed for easy supervision by staff, which is enhanced by the use of a video security system. Other special features are incorporated into the design, all aimed toward the goal of helping each resident reach his or her highest level of autonomy and quality of life.
